Add Surround Sound Processing capability (up to 7.1 channels)
In January 2019, an upgrade was introduced for select models of Linn DSM, offering Surround Sound Processing. This upgrade enables on-board processing of up to 7.1 channels of Dolby and DTS audio** in a Surround Sound system, compatible with any passive speakers (regardless of brand) or Linn Integrated Exakt speakers.
For a straightforward and high-performance 5.1 Surround solution in a single unit, you can upgrade your Selekt DSM to Selekt DSM Surround with Integrated Power Amps – simply connect your desired speakers.

Note: The upgrade was also introduced to Selekt DSM in April 2019.
** Supported formats include DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio, DTS 96/24, DTS, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital, PCM.
*** To enable the upgrade, the Linn DSM player must have Exakt Links, an HDMI 2.0 board, and be running Davaar 68 firmware or a newer version. If passive speakers are being used, an Exaktbox is also required (one output per speaker).
