On February 3rd, we hosted an exclusive New Year's event featuring audio expert Sven Boenicke. The soirée celebrated the New Year's spirit alongside Boenicke's flagship W22 speakers and it was one of the first times that these speakers were shown to the public!

These speakers exemplify Boenicke Audio's commitment to creating distinctive, high-quality loudspeakers. The event highlighted their exceptional craftsmanship and innovative design.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to experience the unparalleled sound quality of the W22 speakers firsthand, as Sven Boenicke demonstrated these flagship speakers. When starting he said ” I am going to transport you to another world”. Well, he did not say a word to much!

Next to the W22 speakers, Boenicke Audio offers other models like the W5, W8, W11 and W13. All Boenicke Audio products share consistent sound and visual characteristics. The W models feature wooden enclosures, and a monolithic aesthetic. The W5 and W8 are compact, while the W11 and W13 maintain the same aesthetic but are larger.

During the event, we had the privilege of conducting an interview with Sven Boenicke. Here are some highlights from our conversation:

How did you feel after visiting the Authentic shops in Brussels?

While I am accustomed to achieving outstanding results with my top-of-the-line gear, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of the W8 speakers partnered with Linn electronics at Authentic Sablon, your wonderful location in the city center. The addition of the room treatment solution I brought with me resulted in a spectacular outcome. I also enjoyed meeting many friendly and open-hearted people.In what way do you think that Authentic differs from other audio dealers?

Authentic pays considerable attention to presenting its products in a classy and sophisticated manner, particularly concerning the environment in which the products are showcased.

After a few days in Belgium, what did you like best and least in Brussels?

I loved the green environment and high standard of living. There was nothing I disliked during my time in the city.

As you have a special ability to remember sound, is this gift more of a help or a challenge in your work?

It's a gift that helps me overcome the challenge of distinguishing myself from the multitude of speaker brands in the market.

How do you see the future of Boenicke? Can we expect a W44?

I can certainly explore the possibility of creating a larger version of the W22, but bigger doesn't necessarily mean better. However, considering the demand for larger speakers in some markets, there's a chance we might introduce something like a W44 in the future.

What makes you different from other audio companies?

Boenicke sets itself apart by constantly questioning the status quo and offering unique solutions that cannot be found in any other speakers worldwide, regardless of price. We incorporate around 17 tricks and unique techniques in the W22 alone, not to mention our innovative approach to electronics.

When do you plan to come back to Belgium?

There are no plans as of yet, but that could change anytime.
